This is it: the last couple I’ll be introducing in the crew. Like all of the couples in this group, Jordan and I can’t imagine the last five years of our lives without them in it. If you want an example of a power couple, look no further than Parker and Taylor. (Side note: something else I’ve always found amusing about our group is that 50% of the couples have two gender nonspecific names. This is one of those couples, as are ourselves, and Payton and Sam.) Should you need a refresh on the previous couples discussed, see those here: #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, and #6.
Taylor and Parker were a newlywed couple that joined when the group was at one of its larger stages. Like with any group, the size ebbed and flowed as people joined or found other groups. However, each of the couples thus far were core members of the group for several years. Taylor and Parker helped invest in our marriage by providing a wonderful friendship and always being there for us. They were excited for us each time we got pregnant and gave us some of the sweetest alone time with each baby by providing us with meals to eat just the two of us. After we had MJ, they also included a meal for her to join us that they had delivered to our home!
One of my favorite qualities about Taylor and Parker is how well they listen. If I looped Taylor in on something, I felt so loved and valued by her attentiveness. I also admired how hard Taylor worked. She invested into others the same way she invested hours into her job. Taylor’s dedication to being a mama and wife is easily noted, too. My favorite Taylor and Parker tip that they took as newlyweds from their premarital counseling was to “fight naked”.
Throughout the course of the group, we got to live out some fun changes with these two, including Parker completing dental school and beginning as a dentist, their transition to parenthood, and Taylor becoming a Stay at Home Mom. They made their lifestyle dreams happen all before moving to Texas. While we miss them greatly, we know God has great things in store for their lives. Jord and I are excited to have great friends in great places so we can visit them and their daughter, Reese and soon-to-be son, they are adding to the family! Taylor and Parker, we love y’all so much and appreciate your friendship a ton! We know we wouldn’t be where we are without y’all.
While I’m sad to be at the conclusion of this amazing series, its been more than fun to walk down memory lane and smile at all the things we’ve learned and experienced from our closest friendships. I’m forever grateful for the foundational life and spiritual guidance, particularly to us as a couple, we get to celebrate still to this day thanks to our amazing friends.
Ashley and Jonny, Payton and Sam, Caelen and Austin, Adam and Katie, Kim and Johnathan, Parker and Taylor.
It’s the friendships like these that outlast hardships and various seasons of life. These couples are forever the crew.
